Danielle Israel was part of the team that established Teach First Israel (TFI) in 2009. In the early days, she was involved in almost every aspect of the organization's work, although her main responsibility was knowledge management. Now that the program is up and running, her focus has shifted to creating and implementing TFI's strategy in the fields of development and communications. Prior to Teach First Israel, Danielle worked for the Israeli branch of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), where she was responsible for enhancing the professional giving culture and philanthropic support-infrastructure in Israel. In this capacity, she helped set up The Center for the Study of Philanthropy in Israel and Guidestar Israel. Danielle holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and will someday complete her master's. She lives in Jerusalem with her husband Daniel and their four children: Jonathan (10), Nadav (7), Abigail (5) and Yael Poppy (2).
