Kelvin Davis is the current MP for Te Tai Tokerau, and his roles in Parliament include being the spokesperson for Police and Corrections, and the associate spokesperson for Justice (Sexual and Domestic Violence), Education (Māori Education), and Regional Affairs. He began his career as a teacher, progressing quickly to Second Deputy Principal and Principal—both at Karetu School and Kaitaia Intermediate School. He has served as an advisor to Rural Principals as well. His education career spanned nearly 20 years before he switched gears and ran for Parliament. He is married, with three children, and is part of the Ngapuhi iwi.
